A big part of a complete television channel redesign is making sure that the pristine logo, typography, and images that we create for the on-air elements make it out into the non-virtual world, where they‘re reproduced on coffee mugs, business cards, letterhead, envelopes, tape labels, print ads, tote bags, t-shirts, helicopters, satellite trucks, and the sides of buildings. With a startup project like Time Warner‘s News 14 Carolina, none of this stuff existed before they bought and paid for it, so it‘s a great opportunity to make sure that the colors are right and the typography is just so.
