I’m particularly proud of this bold, straightforward logo for one of the pioneering stations with the oh-so-cool three-letter call signs. Although they wanted to use ‘Northwest NewsChannel 8’ (see next page) as much as possible, I did my best to encourage them to keep the KGW call letters out there for the ‘prestige’ moments of their broadcast day...and the call letters played a starring role in the news opens I created.

This logo was welcomed particularly warmly, I think, because most folks at the station simply did not like the previous ‘8‘, which they had recently spent a bundle on, to their regret. I‘m sure there have been times when folks at a channel have been hugely relieved to get rid of one of my logos—but not this time.
